About Antique

Antique is a province in the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. It is situated on the western coast of Panay Island and borders Aklan, Capiz, and Iloilo to the east. The capital is San Jose de Buenavista.

Antique is home to the Iraynun-Bukidnon people, who have crafted the only rice terraces in the Visayas. The rice terraces are divided into four terraced fields: General Fullon, Lublub, Bakiang, and San Agustin.

The name "Antique" is derived from the local name for the large black ants found on the island. The Spanish chroniclers recorded the region's name as Hantique, but this was later changed to Antique.

Bugtong Bato Falls

One of the 17 waterfalls of Tibiao, Antique. It is a 7-tiered waterfall in which the height of the first waterfall is at least 75 feet.

Known for its pools filled with cold freshwater and the well-preserved forest surrounding it. This popular eco-resort is nestled in Pandan, Antique.
